Jenilee is a Registered Social Worker and a self-proclaimed “Eating Disorder Warrior”. Having gone through her own disordered eating journey, Jenilee brings a unique perspective to her whole-self-health approach to therapy and counselling. Jenilee practices from a self-acceptance and body trust framework, helping you find and live as your most authentic self.
Jenilee loves people. Ask her why she’s a therapist and she’ll say, “it sounds cliché but I love people!” And you’ll see it in her face and hear it in her voice, she’s not kidding! She loves to understand people (and herself!); what makes us tick, and how we can live our most authentic lives.
Jenilee’s goal, as a therapist, is to hold a safe and supportive space for you while you explore your thoughts, feelings and experiences, all in an effort to heal and grow.
Jenilee provides counselling to people who are struggling with a variety of issues including,
low self-esteem, trauma, depression, anxiety, relationship difficulties, self-harm, suicidal ideation, grief and loss, and anything else that's getting in your way.
Types of therapy: Jenilee’s counselling approach integrates Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), and Image Transformation Therapy (ImTT), with a focus on living as your most authentic self. Jenilee believes in each person’s capacity to heal and grow and is intentional about creating a personalized, wholistic plan for you during counselling/therapy.
Education and Credentials: Jenilee graduated with a Masters of Social Work degree from Wilfrid Laurier University, after receiving her Bachelor of Social Work from Kings University College, and Social Service Worker Diploma from Conestoga College. Jenilee is a certified Image Transformation Therapy (ImTT) Practitioner as well as a Certified Yoga Teacher, and Psychotherapist.
Jenilee is a Registered Social Worker (R.S.W.) with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers (OCSWSSW), a regulatory body administered by the provincial government to regulate the practice of social work in Ontario. She loves being an aunt to her free-spirited niece, and has a blast with her partner and two stellar step-kids; these folx, amongst others, support her in living her most authentic life.
